The Team reveals this year’s festive campaign supporting Better Bankside’s Together at Christmas winter appeal.
The Team always gets excited around this time of year. Like everyone else, we’re obviously getting fired up about the usual Christmas stuff, but for us it’s around now that our agency looks to supporting others through our annual Christmas ‘card’ campaign.
Recent year’s campaigns have included raising funds for the Make a Wish Foundation through making a film asking Borough Market’s stall holders ‘What’s your Christmas Wish?’. Creating an oversized, full Christmas dinner made entirely out of paper, and donating 20 family Christmas dinner hampers through the Southwark Foodbank. And in 2015, creating 12 custom-made Christmas cards for our clients, making a donation to the Stroke Association.
This year’s Christmas campaign is inspired by our recent training trip to Vienna, the home of the snow globe.
Created in 1900 by Erwin Perzy, the very first snow globe was inspired by the beauty of his home city of Vienna. It featured the Basilica of Maria Zell, and contained snow made from ground rice.
Using the theme of ‘Christmas at home and what it means to you’, 12 teamsters were asked to get creative and produce their own personalised dome / snow globe.
With a budget of £10 each for craft supplies, and an empty glass dome, our 12 set to work getting crafty.
The result is 12 bespoke domes, each with its own emotive story; the Christmas soundtrack, the food we prepare, the travel around the country to see family and friends, the traditions which ‘are’ Christmas.
Our chosen charity this year is the perfect match to our campaign – Better Bankside’s Together at Christmas winter appeal, which collects festive gifts for Bankside’s homeless, elderly and vulnerably-housed community.
