We’ve been running our design internship programme since 2011, offering talented new design graduates the chance to work as an intern designer within a creative agency. We love to support new talent and work together to share ideas, insights and skills. It’s something that’s really important to us, as let’s face it – we’ve all been there!
We’re always keeping an eye out for fresh talent, so it’s an exciting time for us when the summer degree shows come around. It was a busy few weeks, but we managed to attend the Kingston, Ravensbourne and LCC degree shows, as well as the D&AD New Blood and New Designers shows. We were really impressed by the quality of work that we saw from all over the country. One of the things that stood out for us the most was the exceptional work produced by some of the universities and colleges that we weren’t previously aware of, which are now firmly on our radar. The shows were a great opportunity for us to meet some of the recent graduates and to promote our ‘Workout’ event that we run as part of the intern programme.
Our summer 2015 Workout was an invitation-only one-day event that took place on Friday 17 July. We invited some of the most promising talent that we spotted at the degree shows to an ‘open studio’ day and had nearly 30 recent graduates from colleges all over the UK attend for honest portfolio critiques.
Over a pizza lunch, the tables were turned, and we presented some of our work to everyone and gave a bit of an insight into what we do here at The Team and the way in which we work. This was then followed by a no-holds-barred ‘ask me anything’ session with a panel of Teamsters. This gave everyone a chance to find out more about the design industry, us as a company, and to get answers to any questions they may have had about working in a creative agency – hopefully we managed to help clear up any queries.
It was a hugely successful day all round, and we have received lots of positive feedback from those that attended. We were so impressed with the graduates we saw that we now have interns booked in until the end of the year.
We’re proud to say we’ve been running our internship programme since 2011 and have hired a number of interns as permanent staff. We offer exciting internships for graduates and students in a number of areas across design and client services. Our paid placements support you as you gain real experience of what it’s like to work in a creative agency. Throughout your time with us you’ll work as part of the brand or digital team across a range of live projects.
