Building an online campus for senior managers

The brief

The NHS Leadership Centre aims to provide world-class leadership development programmes to improve NHS service delivery. A key challenge is to motivate 4000 NHS leaders to demand the best leadership development resources.

Our challenge was to reach the target audience with the development message and to inspire them to discover what's available. To address this we were asked to build a website that promoted the Leadership Centre's development opportunities, and was developmental itself.

The solution

Our research informed a radical rethink. The site needed to be accessible and scaleable enabling leaders to access specific development, event, coaching and programme information quickly.

Complying with UK government good practice, the site was built to allow for integration into a new online environment being developed by the NHS Modernisation Agency. In the role of creative and technical developers, our online accessibility experience served to inform the client team of the principles of Web Accessibility Initiative standards (WAI) and UK government web guidelines.
