The brief

Cable & Wireless Pension Trustee Ltd runs the UK pension scheme for the Cable & Wireless group of companies. The challenge for the pensions team is to provide real time user centric communication to over 23,000 members globally. The aim is to reduce the number of labour-intensive queries, enable the streamlining of administration and reduce operating costs.

Our brief was to design and develop a website that would deliver user interactivity for the operational pension schemes.

The solution

Known as 'Freedom' the site facilitates 'real time' interaction allowing members to interact with personal data on a self serve basis and run benefit statement calculations.

Since its deployment in January 2003, the site has had a dramatic impact on the operational efficiency of the service resulting in a 35% increased operational efficiency and a 724% increase in visitor activity from the previous site over a comparable 6 month period.
